Malaysia Food Information and Traceability (M-FIT) Project, initiated by the Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia, is a computerized information hub within the entire food supply chain (locally and internationally) aimed at achieving the following:

1) to provide Malaysian food companies with the platform to demonstrate food traceability – a
    requirement needed by buyers and consumers, particularly in EU, US, Japan, etc.

2) enhance Malaysian food companies in promoting and marketing their produce through product
    differentiation and

3) help increase the operational efficiency of Malaysian companies involved in food production.

The project is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries Malaysia and its operating departments such as the Department of Agriculture, Department of Fisheries, Department of Veterinary Services, FAMA, etc., with funding sourced from the Multimedia Development Corporation of Malaysia.
